Relationship problem lies

For the sake of your own health and happiness, as well as that of so many others around you, please pay attention to the quality of your thoughts. People spend many hours honing the shapes of their bodies through weight lifting, aerobic exercise, and other athletic endeavors. I believe people should pay equal, if not more, attention to the fitness of their brain waves. I believe that behind almost every illness and every relationship problem lies some habit related to unhealthy brain waves. Healthier brain waves translate into healthier emotional states, which in turn create stronger bodies and happier lives.

Coming Full Circle

The shamans of the past, and perhaps those existing in the present, were essentially brain wave doctors. They did not have the scientific understanding of brain waves that we possess, but it is clear that their healing system was designed to stimulate healing power from within the ailing individual. Often this involved vigorously shaking the body or dancing frenetically until a deep state of trance was achieved.

Michael Winkclman, a neuroscientist at Arizona State University who investigates shamanistic practices, concludes that these healing practices work by integrating older (i.e., the brain stem) and younger (i.e., the prefrontal cortex) parts of the brain. He says, “Shamanistic healing practices achieve this integration by physically stimulating systematic brain wave—discharge patterns.” He goes on to say that this integration allows “unconscious or preconscious primary information processing functions and outputs to be integrated into the operations of the frontal cortex.” In other words, the rational, conscious part of the brain is able to harmonize with the brain stem, the part of the brain dictating the subconscious operations ol the bodv.

More recently, vibration has become popular as a means to develop bone density in older people. By simplv standing on an oscillating platform, subjects who were otherwise limited in mobility were able to achieve effects similar to those achieved through vigorous physical exercise (Olaf).

In another study at Boston University, older men were given vibrating insoles for their shoes. Researchers found that the men’s balance improved and accidental falls dropped to well below the normal rate. The researchers theorize that the vibrations improved the transmission of nervous system signals from the feet to the brain (Marion).

Change the Brain Change the World

Author Ilchi Lee
Source: Healing Society

Within us, and filling our every living moment, are constant vibrations of life. In our hearts, brains, and bodies we can feel the rhythmic pounding that echoes the Cosmic Rhythm of the universe. Ilchi Lee writes all we have to do is to grab on to these vibrations and let them echo throughout the world, breaking through the barriers that seek to prevent us hearing the beautiful melody.

“Change the Brain, Change the World.” This can be the message that will lead us to create the culture and society that can take us into the twenty-first century. By controlling the information that is input into your brain, you will regain your physical, mental, and spiritual health, become a healer, and join other healers in curing this Earth of her ills.

Miracle remedy

If we obtainable you a miracle remedy that prevents cardiac disease, certain types of cancer, diabetes, obesity, tooth decay and varicose veins, would you buy it? Certainly you would.

Prof Lee said there is such a product. But it is not a recent discovery and you won’t find it in a pharmacy but at the grocery store. We are talking about fiber.

A study conducted in Holland on 871 men, over a period of ten years, showed that subjects who had a low fiber diet were three times more susceptible to mortal disease – causes despite – than those who ate a lot of fiber (Future Youth). This said, it couldn’t be confirmed at present that fiber prevents the above-mentioned diseases in all cases. But there is conclusive proof that they occur more frequently in populations with low fiber diets which is exactly the case in the west.

According to The Lancet a diet that contains at least 37 grams of fiber per day (the equivalent of one cup of bran, one apple, one potato and a half cup of cooked spinach) can effectively protect the organism against chronic illnesses common to western society.

So fiber is useful in combating many disorders besides constipation.

LOW FIBER FOODS:

Particularly white bread (since fiber is removed in white flour), beef, pork, chicken, milk, butter, cheese, sugar, processed meats, desserts, fish, seafood and noodles.

GOOD SOURCES OF FIBER:

· Fruits: especially apples and prunes.

· Vegetables: potatoes with their peel, spinach, artichokes, cabbage, and peas.

· Whole grains: barley, whole wheat (you should eat whole wheat bread because of the bran it contains), and oats, corn.

· Nuts: peanuts and almonds.

· Dried fruit: apricots, plums, figs, and dates.

· Legumes: soy beans, lima beans, lentils, chick peas.

Note that there are numerous types of fiber, and that you should alternate between them. For example, the fiber contained in apples and the fiber in cereals are both essential, since they don’t have the same digestive function.

BR Limbic Stage Brain Cleansing

Your training for Dahn Yoga will now move beyond the realm of the neo-cortex and into the region of the limber system.

We may encounter fun and joy in the limbic system.but we may be surprised to discover some unpleasant traps as well. It is especially difficult to deal with negative emotions such as sadness and anger, because underneath all of these negative emotions lies fear. We tend to waste a lot of energy and time dealing with emotional issues. Everyone has experienced the struggle to break free of an unwanted emotion. Our brain stores the memory of an experience along with the emotions attached to it. Therefore, every experience you remember carries associated emotional energy. Experiences are crucial to our development. However, emotional memories sometimes prevent us from going forward, acting as an impediment to growth. We have countless memories in our brain, along with vast amounts of associated emotional energy. If these memories do not find a healthy outlet, the mental stress thev create mav result in unexplained mental or emotional problems. Brain Cleansing attempts to clearly diagnose, and if necessary, heal a

Strengthen the licorice system that acts as our emotional center by “cleansing” the brain of negative emotions and strengthening our ability to deal with negative emotions in the future. The process of becoming the master of your own brain by controlling how your brain deals with emotions is Brain Cleansing.

Exercise Instructions

Make picture cards of different everyday objects. H Divide into two teams if there are many people. @ Each team picks a leader.

The leader of the first team shows a picture (very briefly) to a member of the second team. The second team member must immediately shout out the name of an object not related to the one in the picture.

Ilchi Lee advice that if the person hesitates or shouts out a name related to the object in the picture, then s/he is disqualified. Now it is the second team leader’s turn to challenge a member of the first team. The team with the most members that haven’t been disqualified at the end of the picture review wins the game.

During Dahn Hak training make sure that the pictures represent a definite and recognizable object, not an abstract concept. The answers must not consist of abstract concepts, either.

You can try practicing this on your own.

Self Help, Sounds In The Brain…

As you practice this exercise with full concentration, you may sometimes hear unidentifiable sounds that seem to come from your brain, as if the cells are actually pulling apart from one another or the skull is stretching out. Don’t be alarmed, for this is a natural part of training.

Renaming Exercise

Dr. Ilchi Lee says that we live with countless names. Although the various names we give to objects and people make communication easier, names also create an artificial cage that imprisons our awareness. Look around you and try to acknowledge an object without consciously relying on names. Since we have been trained to approach and define everything with a name, we have difficulty recognizing anything that refuses to be identified by a name.

Yet, how accurately do names really define the things they describe? We think we know what an object is if we know its name, but what do we really know about that object? A name is just a name. It is not the thing itself. We are not seeking the reality ot the object but merely acknowledging it with a lingual representation.

Our excessive reliance on names limits the potential of the brain to be flexible in thought and imagination. Names are the substance of the strongest preconceptions in our inner world. We experience resistance when we try renaming because the name associated with an object is not just a name, but hardwired in our brain as a pattern of neural connections. Renaming is an attempt to change the pattern intentionally. This explains why you experience less resistance when you use abstract nouns tor renaming. An abstract noun does not have a concrete image associated with it. It does not contradict the original name ot an object and, therefore, does not cause friction of resistance in the relevant neural connections. Renaming Exercise allows us to first become aware of the cage created by names. We are then able to devise our own ways of escaping this insidious cage by training our brain to see every object from new angles and directions. The result is greater awareness at all kinds for Dahn Yoga.
