These lines written by Ilchi Lee, he says developing HSP is a way for you to reclaim your internal compass. HSP helps wisely guide your use of HT or any other form of technology.
I always keep a blank piece of paper on my desk in case I need to jot down ideas. I often use a traditional Asian writing brush because I find it more conducive to expressing images and ideas that are sometimes difficult to express in written words. Pens and computers are very convenient ways of conveying messages. However, I often wish to capture the moment-to-moment sensation of existence through the vibration of energy—something outside the bounds of language. For that purpose, a stroke of a twill brush, a tap on a drum, or a few notes on a flute are all effective alternatives.
When I agonize over an issue, thinking deeply, I enter a meditative state. Then, at some point, I achieve a no conscious detachment in which I find a creative solution to a problem. That is what happened several months ago.
In a state of detachment, I felt something move within me. I dipped the brush in ink and brought it to the paper. I found myself drawing a round shape with several dots: it was the smiling face of a person. Then I found myself compelled, perhaps by the freshly drawn smiling face, to move my brush over the paper a few more times, to the left and right. I had drawn a waving hand. As I put down the brush, my face formed an expression that mirrored the smile on the paper.
Do not become frustrated with thoughts. The brain generates thoughts in the same way that the heart pumps blood. That is the function of the brain. You do not sit and worry about your heart doing what it is supposed to do. You wouldn’t get angry with it for doing its job. Apply the same easy acceptance to the function of your brain. Let it send you thoughts. Just do not get carried away by them or show your interest in them.
If you lose your focus on the energy between your hands, there are two things you can do. If you find yourself distracted by a single stray thought, simply bring your mind back to the feeling between your hands. Do not take any more note of it; simply refocus. If you suddenly realize that the distraction has gone on for a while before you catch yourself, simply begin again. Allow distractions to come and go, without monitoring yourself. Eventually, mind, breath, and energy become one. Read more Ilchi Lee’s articles and books for detail information.
Once you are connected to your breath and energy, it is easy to return to your body. Most of the time, we experience life through our body without really being aware of that body. There is usually a web of busy inner dialogue running through our minds. We are usually so mesmerized by our ideas about the world that we miss out on much of the body’s direct sensory experience.
In Dahn Yoga, we use the body as a tool to reawaken ourselves to sensations. Becoming aware of our physical sensations is a necessary prerequisite to mindfulness because such sensations are linked to feelings and thoughts, and they are the foundations of the very process of consciousness.
Being mindful of sensations in our body does not mean standing apart and observing like a distant witness. Rather, we directly experience what is happening in our bodies, and we carefully feel the energy that flows through them when we focus on them.
We live in a convenience-obsessed society where we can take care of almost anything with just one phone call or mouse click. Ilchi Lee tells that although we are comfortable in the moment, our bodies’ health and our brains’ functions degenerate as we become more sedentary. If YOU want to avoid the many health problems that plague modern societies, start walking; walk as much as you can. You can prevent various symptoms that are caused by lack of exercise just by walking well.
In addition to the short walking snacks you add to your dayv, challenge yourself to take on extended bouts of walking. Try to find time for at least one one-hour walk per week, and take at least three walks of a half hour or longer each week. This will help you develop cardiovascular endurance, and it will help you take advantage of some of the more subtle benefits of walking, such as its stress-relieving qualities, which shorter walks may not permit.
You may ask, “When is the best time to walk?” The answer to that question depends on the benefits you are seeking. The morning is a wonderful time when the air is pure and fresh. Walking in the morning is a great way to start your day with a clear mind and to get in touch with yourself emotionally and spiritually.
As Doctor Ilchi Lee writes in his book the effectiveness of Brain Sensitizing is based on the control of a fundamental principle of life as it is known in traditional Asian medicine. The idea that cool water energy and hot fire energy flow freely in our bodies is known as su-seung-hwa-gang, which means “water up, fire down.” When the body is in balance, cool water energv travels upward, toward the head and hot fire energy flows down to the lower abdomen—the “fire in the belly.” This mirrors the cycle of water and fire in nature, as the heat of the sun evaporates the water of oceans and rivers, which eventually falls back to earth as rain. When the natural flow of these opposites is in balance, with the water energy flowing toward the head along the back of the body and fire energy flowing down along the front of the body, mind and body feel at peace and well. When this flow is out of balance, nothing feels right.
Digestion is not wwking well, emotions feel out of control and disconnected, and pain is common. Brain Sensitizing works to balance these opposing forces during Dahn Yoga training sessions.
Awakening to our bodies allow us to experience the physical world fully, with all its anxieties, confusions, and pleasures, rather than living in a world of mere thoughts. Watching your body means asking yourself, “How does it actually feel to be anxious, angry, or happy? What is the texture of the experience?”
Meditation teaches us to stay with the bodily reality of the present moment, which offers us the possibility of seeing our life with a sense of clarity that we could never experience through thinking alone.

The natural outcome of such a situation was that human groups would also make nuclear bombs and engage in a destructive competition of weapons of mass destruction that would end the Omega Experiment before it reached its goal. So, the gods held a meeting on the subject of the human future. The main issue was whether the gods could afford to leave humans alive, since the continuation of the experiment was paramount. If the humans were left unchecked, the whole experiment could go down the drain; if the gods picked another candidate species and started over, the experiment could continue, for Earth contained other species with basic social structures, like gorillas, ants, and bees. Some of the white-robed gods now leaned toward eliminating the humans, as they did with the dinosaurs, to maintain the experiment.
However, at the behest of the gods who had personally visited the Earth in various disguises and who felt most responsible and connected to the human destiny, humans gained a reprieve of fifty Earth years. If the humans didn’t show enough advances in their collective consciousness, then it was agreed the gods would eliminate them. If enough positive changes were evident in human consciousness, then another meeting would be held to discuss possible further actions, if any. The gods put a number on the consciousness levels; ranking divinity as level 1,000, humans had to pass the consciousness level of 200, the point at which negative information could be converted into positive.
To act as a warning to the humans, the gods released a form of a virus that would be spread from one human to another through intimate physical contact, but one that humans would be helpless against. If humans had not made enough progress within these fifty years, then an airborne virus would be released and human extinction would begin. The gods also took care to warn several humans with higher-than-average spiritual sensitivity of the possible things to come and which signs to look for. telling them to warn their fellow human beings.
The subsequent state of “have” is almost incidental. The awakened soul has already achieved its purpose just by beginning from its chosen state of being. Yet, beautifully, having is also a natural outcome of consistent habits of being and doing. A woman who is happy will laugh a lot and live with vitality. Inevitably, she will have warm relationships and bountiful opportunities that reflect her habits of happiness.
Beginning from a state of true beingness, then, is to succeed before finishing, and to plant the seeds of havingness which an enlightened soul does not even require.
You might be thinking to yourself, “Well, if it was as easy as simply changing the order, then would not everyone simply do so and live happily ever after?” This is a valid question that the tools in our HT toolkit can address.
The reality is that our culture and social institutions are mostly designed around the formula of Have —”-Do—>• Be. Thus habituated, we are comfortably familiar with seeking to have. So there is a gap between our habits and our enlightened understanding. And the longer we maintain the habits, the wider the gap becomes.
Fortunately, HT provides us with tools for adjusting to our new formula of Be —”-Do—>• Have. Your soul’s voice might provide some guidance. We must not stop listening to our guide. So first, let us ask our soul.
When you are trapped inside the “I” that you know, the “I” that you have experienced, you cannot use your true creativity. Knowledge and experience are not who you are. They are simply the “I” that you know and experience. Someone who will only take the road that they see an end to, a road that has already been tested, is not a creative person. A great soul creates a road if one cannot be seen.
True creation is only possible when you step outside all your previous experiences, when you step outside the “I” that you have experienced. When you are trapped inside the “I” that you have experienced, you ceaselessly doubt your ability to create. When we encounter Mu-ah, all limits created by the “I” formed by your experiences vanish and infinite creativity springs forth. It is when we become Mu-ah that transience and emptiness become the basis for true creation. When we realize Mu-ah, we shed the boundaries of the individual in favor of infinite potential. To be Mu-ah is to connect with the Creator.
Being Mu-ah means that you are showing the world a potential of your brain that you have never experienced before. At this moment, you are born anew to an “I” that you have never experienced before. When we become Mu-ah we stand below Heaven, atop the earth, and realize our full potential as great souls that can ceaselessly create.
Prof Ilchi Lee writes that I hope these teachings will be valuable for your soul’s journey. Awakening to suffering, transience and Mu-ah are timeless principles that cannot be avoided if one is traveling the soul’s path. As you realize these truths, you will then have the power and responsibility of choice at the highest level.
